Abstract

Child exploitation has been a problem throughout history. While newer technology has been responsible for many positive changes in society, it also has changed the way in which adults can take advantage of children. With the tremendous technological advances made in the 20th century, a variety of new tools are available to those who prey on children. As we begin the 21st century, this victimisation has taken on important new characteristics. The Internet, digital photography and the ease of travel all have had an impact. We will look how some of these advances have been used by those who prey on our children.
