Abstract

This review will outline the evolution of one centre's child advocacy programme. As the recognition of abuse in the USA has increased, its incidence has increased as well. The economic impact of abuse is beginning to be understood, and this has created the need for more extensive medical student and physician education. Additionally, primary prevention of abuse has become a priority.
