Abstract

The aim of this paper is to enhance understanding of the defence-industry interface in the Netherlands. It is structured as follows. First, the institutional context for the Netherlands' approach to industry involvement is described. Subsequent sections deal with key aspects of government strategic guidance, defence procurement practices, contracting issues, specific policy instruments, R&D, and international collaboration. The paper concludes with sections on current policy issues and future policy outlook.
