Abstract

For abused women who see only darkness ahead, WomanKind, a hospital-based program, is a shining beacon--and a national model. Every woman entering a Fairview Health System hospital is routinely asked about abuse, and system hospitals address the problem throughout every department, not just in the emergency department. WomanKind than serves as a "bridge" to appropriate services in the community.
