Abstract

Even the most well-intentioned healthcare managers will encounter roadblocks to successful implementation of continuous quality improvement as long as fear remains pervasive in the workplace. This article discusses the roots of fear, explains how fear impedes improvement efforts, and describes methods to identify and eradicate fear.
