Abstract

In terms of durability, multi-body simulation using a tire model is expected to enable prediction of the forces generated on a vehicle. As the durability of a vehicle depends on these forces, accuracy of the predicted forces is a crucial factor in assessing durability. A new test setup has been used to evaluate the accuracy of the simulation. Due to good reproducibility, the results from physical testing and simulation can be compared in the time domain. By evaluating the results in the time domain, it is possible to detect the problems of the simulation which need to be improved. This new evaluation method is very suitable for actual application in complete vehicle simulations.
