Abstract

Etiological factors associated with both delinquent and nondelinquent strategic styles are examined from a clinical sociological perspective. An intervention model for rebalancing the strategic styles of youths is described. Diagnostic, prognostic, and prescriptive stages of intervention are discussed utilizing case material from five black inner-city youths: conformist, tough guy, con artist, withdrawn kid, and together guy.
