Abstract

Data were collected from 426 battered women who sought help from a spouse-abuse shelter located in central Florida. This article examined the relationship between the victims' demographic, economic, and situational characteristics and their decisions to call the police by using the multivariate modeling technique of log-linear analysis. The results indicate that the victims' decision to call the police are not dependent upon their demographic, economic, and situational characteristics.
