Abstract

The issue of violence against the institutionalized elderly is examined. Based on her work experience, the author describes common manifestations of violence, discusses possible causes and suggests interventions. Research into the dynamics between caregiver and resident is one such intervention. But more important, the author calls for an immediate overview of the problem.
