Abstract

Child sexual abuse prevention programs of all kinds have multiplied. This paper examines one critical concept that is taught in virtually every program: the distinction between good and bad touch. Evaluation research has demonstrated that this is a difficult concept for young children to learn and retain. This paper offers the hypothesis that the reason for this difficulty can be found in the attribution skills of young children.
