Abstract

Some problems concerning the use of national data on suicide to make international comparisons are considered. Factors such as differences in age structure of populations and in descriptions of causes of death are examined. The importance of certain types of accidents and their effect on suicide statistics are emphasized. (summary in ENG, RUS)
