Abstract

A survey has been carried out on injuries resulting from railway accidents in the Johannesburg district. The train injury was often associated with violent personal assault. The nature of injuries was varied, but there was a high incidence of amputated or crushed limbs and a relatively high incidence of injury to more than one limb.
