Abstract

The behaviours that give rise to abuse are many, varied and complex. Because definitions of abuse are hampered by a lack of both inter-professional and international consensus, identifying abuse and the causative factors for such behaviour can be problematic. This article will focus on the various types of abuse and possible reasons for such behaviour.
