Abstract

On the basis of interviews with over 200 executives in more than 100 firms spanning a wide variety of industries, four key factors that make an organization either crisis-prone or crisis-prepared have been identified. The result is the determination of the crisis profile of an organization. The model has led to the development of computer software to allow the crisis vulnerability of an organization to be determined systematically. The computer software allows an organization to compare the differing perspectives of its key members.
