N2  - The paper has been intended to present a method of evaluating reliability and service lives of aircraft-equipment items. The evaluation has been based on the description of aging processes that take place throughout aircraft operational phase. What plays the most essential role in this method is the relationship that describes variations in a diagnostic parameter assumed to be a measure of changes in the condition of a given item due to aging processes. The Fokker-Planck equation has been used to describe these variations in the diagnostic parameter. The presented method may be used to control the operational phase of aeronautical devices.<p />
