In this paper, some of the recent developments in the management and research of trauma are presented: (1) Traumatology and injury epidemiology; (2) Trauma scoring and multiple injuries; (3) Blast injury and impact injury; (4) Mine injuries and firearm injury; (5) Classification of war wounds; and (6) Basic science research on trauma.
