TY - JOUR PY - 2008// TI - Political violence and development: an ecologic approach to children in war zones JO - Child and adolescent psychiatric clinics of North America A1 - Boothby, N. SP - 497 EP - 514 VL - 17 IS - 3 N2 - This article looks at the experiences of children in war from a psychosocial and social ecologic perspective. In contrast to clinical approaches, it offers a conceptualization of how the impacts of political violence and war are socially mediated. It suggests that psychologic assistance to war-affected children often occurs not through the provision of therapy by outsiders but via support from insiders.
