TY - JOUR PY - 2008// TI - Numerical human models for accident research and safety - potentials and limitations JO - Studies in health technology and informatics A1 - Praxl, Norbert A1 - Adamec, Jiri A1 - Muggenthaler, Holger A1 - von Merten, Katja SP - 201 EP - 207 VL - 133 IS - N2 - The method of numerical simulation is frequently used in the area of automotive safety. Recently, numerical models of the human body have been developed for the numerical simulation of occupants. Different approaches in modelling the human body have been used: the finite-element and the multibody technique. Numerical human models representing the two modelling approaches are introduced and the potentials and limitations of these models are discussed.
