The goal is to inform subsequent therapists about the needs of this clinical population. Those sexually abused in childhood appear to have a more difficult time following the abuse by the professional and to present a wider array of emotional turmoil and life difficulties. They also present particular strengths. Both groups seem to benefit from a boundaried, competent subsequent therapist versed in the effects of malpractice and in the specific needs of this client population related to such issues as mistrust of professionals, legal concerns, etc
