TY - JOUR PY - 2011// TI - Don't just do something, stand there: responding to unrelieved patient suffering JO - Journal of psychosocial nursing and mental health services A1 - Dettmore, Diane A1 - Gabriele, Louise Carmen SP - 34 EP - 38 VL - 49 IS - 4 N2 - Nurses are taught a variety of interventions to relieve patient suffering. This article describes how an expert nurse responded to unrelieved suffering and offers insight into ways of being present for patients and families.
