N2  - The role of the counseling center director in a suicide prevention program is to maximize his/her staff's effectiveness, both presently and in the future. To do this, the director must carry out and/or oversee a broad range of related activities, including hiring counselors, providing staff development, building campus and community networks, making use of data, developing policies and procedures, handling the media, and providing accountability.
