N2  - The whole problematic nature of euthanasia and assisted suicide has been down for consideration for the last twenty years publicly and in politics. During that time the specific role of the pharmacist and his responsibility have been underexposed. The opinion that the pharmacist has a duty to supply in order to allow the attending physician, in accordance with the request of the patient in case of unbearable suffering, or for reasons of loss of dignity to hasten death intentionally by administration of a pharmacological agent, does not meet the professional and human responsibility of the pharmacist. In the present paper are under discussion: the part of the pharmacist on the subject of advising the physician concerning the right technique of administering drugs; the pharmacists own responsibility by supplying euthanatica; the juridicial context; the recent developments in jurisprudence and regulation; the opinion of the pharmacist and a consideration of the subject.<p /> <p>Language: nl</p>
