N2  - On the Jesuits' journal Civiltà Cattolica father Casalone sj suggested that the new bill on assisted suicide that is going to be discussed in the Senate could also be accepted instead of having a situation in which suicide could possibly be permissible at any condition. This thesis raised quite a lot of discussions, appearing totally new as well as too much favorable to assisted suicide. The paper shows that such a proposal is far from being new, since even in the past the Catholic Church accepted new ethical theses.
