This retrospective study, data were obtained from cases of suicidal hanging reported to the Department of Forensic Medicine & Toxicology, UCMS & GTB Hospital, New Delhi. In our study out of 615 cases, 417(68%) were male and 198(32%) were female. Most of the victims288(46.82%) were irom the age group 21-30 years. Maximum hanging fatalities in males occur during 06:01pm-12:00 midnight followed by 06:01am-12:00 noon while in females' maximum hanging iatalities occur in between 12:01pm to 06:00pm and 06:01pm to 12:00 midnight. According to the findings, various subpopulations die by hanging at different hours of the day and at different periods of the year. © 2021, Medico Legal Society. All rights reserved.
