N2  - A 72-year-old flecainide-poisoned woman developed refractory cardiogenic shock treated with veno-arterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO). Ten days after weaning ECMO, she developed Lance and Adams Syndrome and delayed Parkinsonism despite the absence of circulatory arrest onset. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) showed isolated globi pallidi infarcts explaining the patient's Parkinsonism. We emphasize the unusual concomitance of these two entities. Furthermore, this case highlights the need for early MRI in ECMO-treated patients presenting persistent abnormal neurological examination on ECMO weaning to guide appropriate further pharmacological treatment and rehabilitation. © 2016 Elsevier GmbH.<p /> <p>Language: en</p>
