SP - 40 EP - 46 VL - 102 IS - 1 N2 - Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis is a neurodegenerative disease that affects upper and lower motor neurones: this induces a progressive and irreversible paralysis of striated muscles, that leads to death in a lapse of 3-5 years. Aspects related to end-of-life of these patients are in a continuous ethical, religious and legal debate, especially those related to euthanasia, assisted suicide and therapeutic obstinacy. Moral life of man is determined by the four cardinal virtues: these are considered when analysing the aspects mentiones above. Some research papers published in other countries, word legislation and law 26742 of the Argentine Republic are analised in our research work.
