N2 - Introduction, and Materials and Methods: Suicide rates among women in Japan and South Korea rank high compared with other countries throughout the world. Therefore, this study researched the suicide rates by age groups among women in Japan and South Korea in 2006.
RESULTS and Conclusion: The present research indicates that it is important to strengthen further mental healthcare available to younger and middle-aged groups in Japan, and to those with "health problems" in an elderly group of South Korean women. © 2012 Japan International Cultural Exchange Foundation and Japan Health Sciences University.
