TY - JOUR PY - 2007// TI - Spaces of suicide: Architectural metaphors and leitmotifs in Sadeq Hedayat's Blind Owl JO - Journal of Architecture A1 - Turan, O. SP - 193 EP - 198 VL - 12 IS - 2 N2 - Blind Owl (1936), by the Iranian writer Sadeq Hedayat (1903-1951), is a narrative focusing on the meaning of life and death. Hedayat makes use of architectural metaphors and leitmotifs in this short novel in order to maintain the fictional aura essential for his literary concepts. Probing these metaphors may shed a light on the occult side of the novella as well as creating another conceptual dimension. © 2007 The Journal of Architecture.
