TY - JOUR PY - 2003// TI - Suspicious suicide JO - Journal of forensic medicine and toxicology A1 - Banerjee, K.K. A1 - Kohli, A. SP - 25 EP - 26 VL - 20 IS - 1 N2 - In medico-legal practice, often the autopsy surgeon is asked to give his opinion about the suicidal and homicidal nature of death. In most of the cases circumstantial evidence with the help of a forensic scientist team is called for. But the role of a Forensic Medicine expert after conducting post-mortem examination in arriving at the final opinion along with other evidence can not be overlooked. In suicide, both the accused and the victim is the same person, whereas in homicide they are different. Suicide by firearm is not a very common method in our country. This case pertains to an interesting case of suicide (or is it homicide?).
