N2  - Despite the fact that mixed states had already been described very elaborated by Kraepelin they did not get much attention for a long time. Recently, large epidemiological studies, e.g. the French EPIMAN study [2] led to a rediscovery of mixed states. However, despite their relative difficulties in treatment and the obvious danger of suicide, treatment research is still far behind.
