TY - JOUR PY - 2004// TI - The healy dilemma: A reply to the American college of neuropsychopharmacology's report on SSRIs and suicidal behavior in children JO - Ethical human sciences and services A1 - Leo, J. SP - 147 EP - 151 VL - 6 IS - 2 N2 - In response to the growing media awareness of the potential link between SSRIs and increased thoughts of suicide in children, The American College of Neuropsycho pharmacology (ACNP) recently released an executive summary from its task force assigned to investigate this question (ACNP, 2004). Their Executive Summary, released just days before the FDA hearing on this issue, explains that there is no link between SSRIs and suicide, yet they ignore the work of David Healy, the most recent critic of the flawed methodology of the clinical trials investigation. The ANCP's summary essentially provides a framework for how the FDA should not proceed with its own investigation. The following article is a response to the ANCP.
