SP - 187 EP - 195 VL - 14 IS - 3-4 N2 - During the last decades in Germany varies types of crisis-counseling-services as well as inpatient crisis-centers and hotlines were locally developed. It will be described different types of professional outpatient crisis center with their specific advantages according to a research of some outpatient services in Nordrhein-Westfalen. The article introduces the new big crisis service of Berlin which started in 1999. Some data of the basic documentation of this service are presented. The first data shows that it is difficult for the services to reach most of suicidal people. More network with rescue teams and police is needed. The article mentions the need of help in cases of post traumatic stress disorder by crisis services. Finally the article emphasize on the need of developing clear offers for crisis outpatient services to give everybody an idea of what help he can expect by the service. Helpful to develop more quality and common identity may be the "Guidelines for the Organization of Crisis Intervention", issued by the German Association for Suicide Prevention.
