TY - JOUR PY - 1999// TI - Incidence of aluminium phosphide poisoning: Its analysis and interpretation JO - Journal of forensic medicine and toxicology A1 - Sharma, V.K. A1 - Satpathy, D.K. SP - 20 EP - 25 VL - 16 IS - 2 N2 - Aluminium phosphide (A1P) poisoning is frequently noticed at present in as much as 50% cases of poisoning, because of its easy availability, storage, and use, with reliability in action. An analysis of five year data has been presented. Due to the increasing use of Aluminium phosphide it is being routinely tested in all the medicolegal samples. We have encountered basic problems in false positive and false negative results especially in decomposed cases and cases with known history of Aluminium phosphide poisoning, respectively. Various points related to this problem along with the methodology of the determination of aluminium phosphide shall be discussed at length.
