N2  - The seatbelt syndrome refers to the spectrum of injuries associated with lap belt restraints and includes intestinal tears, perforations, and transections; mesenteric disruptions; and lumbar distractions, dislocations, and fractures. We report a case of appendiceal transection associated with a lap belt restraint in a small child.
