N2  - In this paper the statistical occurrence of sport traumas within a very large case-study of vertebral fractures involving neurologic damage is reported. Following a careful analysis of the causes and mechanism of the lesion according to the particular sport in question, the authors conclude by pointing out that all too often carelessness and inadequate technical and athletic preparation represent determinant factors in the cause of these lesions.     <p>Language: en</p>
