TY - JOUR PY - 2022// TI - Influence of underground structures on diffusion behavior of hydrogen leaking from buried pipes JO - Journal of the Japan Society for Safety Engineering A1 - Yamasaki, Shuichi A1 - Ichikawa, Yuji A1 - Ogita, Masakazu A1 - Ishihara, Tatsumi SP - 234 EP - 243 VL - 61 IS - 4 N2 - Hydrogen is expecting as an energy carrier for reducing CO2 emissions that cause global warming. Pipeline supply system is considered as an efficient method for supplying hydrogen. However, when H2 pipeline becomes widespread, there is a risk of accidents caused by leaked hydrogen from the buried pipeline, and identifying the point of gas leakage is important issues from safety. In the case of hydrogen leakage under the ground, it is necessary to detect the leakage point efficiently. Assuming the sensor survey used in the current city gas supply, it is highly important knowledge of the diffusion behavior of hydrogen under the ground and atmosphere for the effectiveness and detection efficiency of the survey. In addition, when considering actual operation, underground structures (protective plates, building foundations, etc.) affect the diffusion behavior of hydrogen. In this study, we organized the fundamental knowledge about the diffusion behavior of hydrogen considering the influence of underground structures through the experiment, and verified the applicability of the survey method.
