TY - JOUR PY - 1991// TI - Community crisis intervention in suicide epidemics JO - Arctic medical research A1 - Rodgers, D. D. SP - 276 EP - 280 VL - 50 IS - Suppl N2 - The characteristics of "epidemic" suicides in native communities are discussed. It is hypothesized that the suicides are but one of many indicators of general community disorganization and problems. It is felt that concentration on the suicide problem although necessary, may detract from efforts at remedying the basic problems. Three communities are used to illustrate their "dynamics" and some principles of crisis intervention in such situations are presented.
