When drivers acquire necessary information, they have to select it from the complex visual environments. Previous researches have demonstrated that observers tend to focus their attention to a certain surface and easily neglect the information located on the different surface, yielding higher performance in visual search. In the present study, we investigated performance of visual search, when the information were displayed on different surfaces. It was found that a meter with information displaying located in depth improved the performance in visual search.
