As the first step of this research, we carry out the measurement and estimation method for road friction characteristics. In this analysis, the magic formula is used to estimate the braking coefficient, the maximum friction coefficient, and the slip ratio that leads to that value. As a result, it is shown that road friction characteristics on actual road surface can be estimated accurately.
