Ordinary least squares regression was utilized to empirically test this hypothesis while controlling for client demographic characteristics. Perceived social competence, in addition to client race, was demonstrated to be a significant predictive factor of rape myth endorsement. Limitations of the present study and suggestions for methodological improvement are discussed.
