N2  - The Diagnostic and Therapeutic Care of Abused Children and Adolescents In the following article, an overview of the current German health care situation concerning child abuse, neglect and maltreatment is provided. Interdisciplinary institutions of child protection are important initial contact points for families and professionals wishing to receive help. Furthermore, trauma clinics, victim support organizations and specialized counselling centers are indispensable to meet the complex needs of victims. Overall, the availability and accessibility of the support system in Germany is still insufficient and the number of unknown and untreated cases remains high.
