The aim of this study was to investigate the extent and type of violence in women seeking divorce referred to the forensic medicine of Boyer-Ahmad city. Methods: This research was a descriptive-analytical study that was conducted by survey method. The statistical population is all women who had referred to the forensic medicine of Boyer-Ahmad city for divorce for 8 months from August 1996 to March 1996, which were studied in full. Is a questionnaire collection tool. Data were collected and entered into SPSS19 software and statistically analyzed using descriptive statistics such as frequency, mean, standard deviation, etc. Findings:In this study, 206 women were examined as a sample. In total, the average domestic violence is (3.19). In other words, it has an average average. The highest mean was for psychological violence (4.84) and the lowest mean was for sexual violence (1.72). There was a significant relationship between education, female and male occupation, moral corruption, suspicion and infidelity, involvement of others, learning about violence and years of marriage with different dimensions of domestic violence against women seeking divorce. Conclusion: Domestic violence is moderate and psychological violence is high among women seeking divorce. Women's education, employment, and financial independence can help reduce domestic violence
