N2  - A study of the town of Ipswich's present transport system and the way it should be developed over the next decade and a half was recently completed. This article outlines the overall approach adopted in the study and gives some details regarding its findings. The focus of this paper is on (1) an investigation of the potential of various transport strategy components to solve the forecast problems and the assembly of the better-performing components into a series of strategy options, and (2) the testing of the transport strategy options using a specially developed transport model and the preparation of full assessments of their consequences.<p />
