A “multiple strand approach involving a range of partners across different sectors” is needed to tackle violent crime in England and Wales, says the first strategy aimed at reducing serious violence. Amber Rudd, the home secretary, said that the government’s response “to violent crime must address the misuse of drugs” as a priority.
