TY - JOUR PY - 1989// TI - Proposed guidelines for pedestrian level wind studies for Boston -- Comparison of results from 12 studies JO - Building and environment A1 - Durgin, Frank H. SP - 305 EP - 314 VL - 24 IS - 4 N2 - The Boston redevelopment Authority (BRA), the Massachusetts Environmental Protection Agency (MEPA), and other regulatory agencies now require that the developer of each new large building or project in Boston assess the effect of the proposed project on pedestrian level winds in the vicinity of the project. However, examination of many of the resulting reports disclosed problems with the types of data presented, the criteria used to evaluate the data, and the repeatibility between results from different laboratories for the same conditions. As a result, the BRA has sponsored two programs at the Wright Brothers Facility (WBF) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to examine some of the reasons for these differences. This paper summarizes the results of the efforts to date.
