TY - JOUR PY - 2016// TI - Fatigue stress fracture of the talar body: an uncommon cause of ankle pain JO - Journal of foot and ankle surgery A1 - Kim, Young Sung A1 - Lee, Ho Min A1 - Kim, Jong Pil A1 - Moon, Han Sol SP - 1113 EP - 1116 VL - 55 IS - 5 N2 - Fatigue stress fractures of the talus are rare and usually involve the head of the talus in military recruits. We report an uncommon cause of ankle pain due to a fatigue stress fracture of the body of the talus in a 32-year-old male social soccer player. Healing was achieved after weightbearing suppression for 6 weeks. Although rare, a stress fracture of the body of the talus should be considered in an athlete with a gradual onset of chronic ankle pain. Magnetic resonance imaging and bone scan are useful tools for early diagnosis.
