N2  - Study fatal and non-fatal paediatric poisoning cases was conducted in Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology in Victoria Hospital collaboration with the Department of Pediatrics, Vani Vilas Hospital and, attached to Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute, Bangalore, India. In our study-79.7% were ingested poisons and 20.3%were poisoning due to snake bites and scorpion stings. 44% of the total poisoning cases were due to insecticides. Among these snake bites were most common accounting for 84.6%. Most of the pediatric poisoning occurred inside home (69.5%), and least occurred outside home (30.5%). Maximum cases were seen at evening time (36.7%), followed by morning time (25%). In most of the cases the manner of poisoning was accidental (68.8%), followed by suicidal attempts (29.7%). 4 cases (3.1%) cases were succumbed to death.<p />  <p>Language: en</p>
