TY - JOUR PY - 1976// TI - The quick minute: delinquents, drugs, and time JO - Criminal justice and behavior A1 - Andrew, June M. A1 - Bentley, Margaret R. SP - 179 EP - 186 VL - 3 IS - 2 N2 - RESULTS of this study confirmed prior findings that time seems slow to delinquents, compared to the perceptions of normals drawn from other studies. However, a heavy-drug-using group unexpectedly showed a more accurate time sense than a light-use group. The difference appeared only for the offenders age 15 and over. It was suggested (a) that longterm drug use may create organic brain changes that may normalize time sense, or that the result may be due to (b) a selective factor related to drug use or (c) a practice effect.
