N2  - Sex offenders completing or failing an intensive residential treatment program into which they were legally ordered were compared on observations of social behavior exhibited during regular activities in the program, psychological tests, and physiological assessments of sexual arousal. Sex offenders completing the program displayed more social competence with both men and women. Furthermore, the only significant descriptive information indicated that men having familial relationships with their victims were more apt to complete the program. These results suggest that future research should focus on obtaining information not readily manipulated by the sex offender and should recognize that some classification systems may have limited value.<p /> <p>Language: en</p>
