N2  - In the early years of the present century it became apparent, with increasing demand for traffic stripes, that paints must be developed which had certain special properties. This paper is an outline of the recorded research for the formulation and testing of traffic-marking paints. Consumers' and manufactures' opinions on improved properties of traffic paints point the way for additional research.<p />
